Absurdity Unto Death

One of the most absurd things to come out of our current political environment may very well mean the death of the human race.

There are several laws of nature which man has come to fear, loath and despise. First, death is natural. Second, extinction is normal. Without death there can be no life. The two are utterly interdependent. Nearly every species to ever exist on earth has become extinct.

Humans try to intervene and prevent extinction. Now don't get me wrong, in some cases it may be justifiable where the animals are otherwise flourishing except for human intervention wiping them out. However in other cases, like Panda's for example, once a species is destined for extinction to the point where they are no longer willing to mate to save themselves it's time for man to step aside and let nature take its course.

The real tragedy is in diversity, specifically biodiversity this time. Man has come up with the idea that we need as diverse forms of life on earth as possible and every species must be made to survive. The irony is that the diverse forms exist because some are EXPECTED through the laws of nature to die. Those well adapted survive, the rest die off.

If the earth warms and polar bears die, this is nature. If a new species evolves to fill a niche in some environment this too is nature. Many people find this cruel. It is simply natural. As you can learn from any Buddhist or Taoist (or hey go ask a Jedi) death is a natural part of life.

Only when you can accept the nature of life can you truly live, otherwise you will merely exist, struggling to overcome the truth which as logic and all history has shown, is an entirely futile course of action. If you leave the weak to breed, they will interbreed with the strong and both will die. This is not cruelty, this is nature.

Whether we accept it or not the laws of nature reign supreme. We can accept them and live well, ignore them at our peril or oppose the steam roller and get run over.

Yersinia Pestis

Cybent class6 (Plague) [Virkarya-Viractia-Viracteria-Proteoacteria-GammaProteoacteria-
Enteroviracterialis-Yersinia-Pestis]
Nearly always referred to as a "computer virus", this organism and its variants are in fact bacteria. Virus are unable to reproduce and multiply by causing a host cell to produce new copies. This results in behavior such that as long as the cell exists, even if all of the virii are destroyed, new virii can be created by the previously infected cell. Bacteria on the other hand, while often relying on a host for survival actually carries around the means (copy codes) for its own reproduction.
This particular bacterium is most often spread to hosts indirectly. The bacteria infect FILES which in turn often travel attached to the back of an e-mail (though they can travel short distances on their own and through other means). As the e-mail comes into contact with a host the file through some sort of contact is transferred to the host. When the file is used (opened or executed) the bacteria is able to enter the host and begins to multiply.
This is the most common form of bacteria and as such has mutated into many forms. They all share the common methods of propagation, but may attack different systems or cause different symptoms.

Cryptocercus Lurkai

Cybent class1 (Common Bug aka Lurker) [eKarya-Animalia-Arthropoda-Insecta-Pterygota-Neoptera-
Dictyoptera-Blattodea-Cryptocercus-Lurkai]
An ineradicable creature known to exist within electronic systems. Some wrongly believe this to be a purely virtual creature (Domain Virkarya) however it was first recognized in the first electronics systems pre-dating software and any virtual environment. While it has never been seen directly its effects have been quite widely reported. Symptoms range from communications distortions induced in transit to destruction and transformation of software. It is believed (though unverified) that this creature feeds on electrical energy, thus causing data loss in transmission lines and modification of code into a "buggy" state.
This species can be reduced in number with due diligence and good use of "debuggers" but cannot be eradicated. While debuggers make a good extermination tool, the best way to avoid problems with these creatures is to design any new system with known methodologies to avoid their infestation in the first place.
While there have been many claims to such, no evidence exists that proves any existing method is capable of completely destroying these pests.

666 virus

Just a notice to the net community at large.
A virus has been released which will, for about 7 minutes today effect your computer.
This virus is programmed to take control of your system clock on 6/6/06 so that it does not "roll over" at 60 minutes past 6:00 but rather keeps counting until 7:07
therefore 7:06 will be seen as 6:66

There will be no further effects, and the virus will delete itself afterward.

corporate rant

Perhaps you've heard of any one of THESE events involving stolen data potentially destroying the lives and livelyhoods of innocent people. Granted the damage is rarely so severe, but when identities are stolen it does lead at the very least to some extremely aggravating dealing with various corporations to get things set straight. It can also take a lot of time. It can also be made worse in that if the thief was not entirely malicious you can't even be told what was done because it violates the criminals privacy.

Got that? They stole your identity, destroyed your privacy but the government and corporations protect the criminal's privacy.

Companies lie claiming to destroy the data from your hardrive when they replace it under warranty, and the average person is reduced to a mindless worker drone that does their job, pays their taxes and has no official identity or recourse under the law.

This country was founded by Europeans with a warrior heritage. How does this relate? Way back and long ago when our ancestors were warriors they considered it an honor to fight and a death in battle was a noble one. These days noone seems capable of standing up and fighting. After all the enemy is not one person standing in front of you, it's some faceless corporation or some bureaucratic government entity that tells people this is how it is, this is the paper you'll sign making it ok.

Whatever happened to the common sense of taking care of your customer's interest so they'll return their business? It died with the mega corporations that don't know their customers faces, only their credit card numbers and shopping habits with a long list of everything they buy. They don't fear losing you as a customer because there's no reasonable alternative.

It's time to stop letting this go on. This country was once meant for the people. We've taken on a system of principles which encourage cowardice. Let the government handle it and protect us is the cry from a people who once fought a war to weaken the government, even as the government again takes their freedoms for their security without solving the problems and claiming that though they try they bear no responsibility and can not be held liable.
